California Department of Rehabilitation

The California Department of Rehabilitation (DR) may provide financial support for college for qualified students with disabilities who meet specific DR eligibility requirements. The mission of the Department of Rehabilitation is "… to assist Californians with disabilities in obtaining and retaining employment and maximizing their ability to live independently in their communities".

If you are a California resident and interested in applying, contact the DR Office closest to your permanent mailing address to schedule a meeting. To locate the appropriate DR Office, visit their website at www.rehab.cahwnet.gov. DR Offices are listed with address and phone numbers in the telephone directory under State Government. Lastly, the OSD has a list of Southern California DR offices in the lobby at A 255 Murphy and a link through the OSD homepage.

Once eligibility with DR is established, financial support may include payment for various student fees and parking. At the time of intake, please let the OSD know if you are a DR client.

Selected DR brochures and publications in various formats are available in the lobby of the OSD, please ask any staff member for assistance.
