Construction Update

2007 Fall Quarter

Construction of the Westwood Replacement Hospital continues with a completion date very soon. Unlike past years, the sidewalk on both sides of Westwood Plaza is open; therefore, there is minimal impact to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The Residence Hall rooms of Sproul Hall are closed for upgrades and repairs. This project is scheduled to be completed by Summer 2008. The first floor of Sproul – the Housing Offices – are open and ready to work with students.

A new major construction site is that of the Life Sciences Replacement Building near Manning and C.E.Young Drive – what once was Hershey Hall. The sidewalk on the east side of C.E.Y. Drive from Manning Drive to the Botany Building is closed.

Seismic upgrades continue at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. There is minimal impact to pedestrians or vehicles.

The Replacement Engineering Building is just about finished. The outdoor stairs between Ackerman and the Engineering Buildings are open and more importantly the west facing doors on the fourth floor of Math Sciences (just near the DCP) are re-opened. The timeline for specific phases for the remainder of this project is not yet complete.
